FREDLINK TOURS is incorporated in Kenya and is run by a staff of 5 persons. A member of " Kenya Association of Tour Operators" the company was founded by and is managed by a Frenchman living in Kenya since 1995; Frédéric Poinçon, 40 years old, who has been an avid fan of off-road motorcycle since he was 13 years old.
« Hello, my
name is Frederic Poinçon, a Frenchman living in
Kenya since 1995. I first came to Kenya in 1994 on leaving
a humanitarian organisation, then based in Central Africa
region, where I worked as a logistician. I was immediately
spellbound by the land of Kenya ; the kindness of its
people, the beautiful sceneries and a rich wealth of untainted
natural heritage. I decided to bring my personal motorbike
from France, with which I undertook to explore the beauty
of this land. It was not long before I developed the desire
to share with other motorcycle riders, the exceptional
experience of discovering freely in a very exceptional
environment. Consequently, in 1998, with organisational
preparations completed, and a strong support team behind
me, I was ready to make the dream of organising motorbike
safaris in Kenya and Tanzania a reality. Since then, we
have been lucky to organise bike tours for many groups of
people, who have, all been strongly impressed by the profound
success of their trip, and others among these, have indeed
returned for new circuits ».

Our choice of sites and areas visited were made with the
view to give you the best services and most authentic
experience. Accommodation varies from hotel to bush camping,
which offers you the opportunity to encounter the local
inhabitants and the wildlife. However, the safari program
is quite flexible and we can tailor it to fit your particular
interests and desires, so that its design becomes more
yours than ours.

The crew :
A tour leader by motorcycle to guide the participants.
An escort vehicle follows the participants on the
same route, to provide enhanced safety and technical
support such as carrying luggages, camping gear, fuel,
tools and spare parts, water, food and first aid kit.
A support crew of 5 staff : a driver, mechanic, cook, camp attendant and doctor, accompany. The doctor is linked by radio to " Flying Doctors ", an air rescue organisation operating within Kenya and Tanzania.

Moving on further, on a
sandy trail, you are sure to meet Masai herdsmen driving
large herds of livestock from pastures to watering points;
or stumble into a herd of Zebras that soon gallop off
kicking up a big cloud of savannah dust; if not a more
majestic trot of surprised giraffes which take off behind
acacia bush…
Now make a stop at a village market
centre where the people meet for sale of livestock…
catch their true life, learn how to say simple greetings
in their language... visit a local school…. and
meet the Morans, the young male initiates into the age-old
warriorship of the Maasai ancestors… take a walk
into the bush rubbing shoulders with the african nature,
in the company of the Morans, and later enjoy your evening
at the campsite being entertained with traditional songs
and dances, and listening to the Morans'adventure stories.
Then to cup it up, you soon lie down, amongst the Maasai,
under the starry African night for a dreamful sleep...
