Itinerant hike to discover the wild areas of northern Tanzania. Walking through the Great Rift Valley, Lake Natron, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Eyasi, Lake Manyara and Tarangire Park. Mixing comfort accommodation in the middle of nowhere to meet local people.
Biking on tracks frequented by wildlife and visiting 4×4 wildlife parks.
Through us you will participate in a unique trip full of exceptional diversity; that affords you a singular opportunity to discover some of Africa’s last ancestral ethnic groups, as well as the last wild animals of the planet.
I touched base with Fredlink Adventure Safaris and Fred was quick to respond and helpful to the last. I told the guys what I was looking for, 5 days from Nairobi to Mombassa and it was important I saw and felt the real Kenya.
Alex met me some days later in Nairobi and he was wonderful companion throughout. It felt like hanging out with a mate and he was happy to off road adrenaline style or simply take in the sights and trot along, whatever suited my mood. That was a huge benefit.
If wild Elephants grazing by your tent and real life 'zebra crossing' doesn't take your fancy then perhaps the great lodges, wild Giraffes cutting you off or endless wildlife of every variety, be it Hippo, warthog, crocodile or chameleons (that do change colour trying to cross the road) will simply put - turn you into a Peter Pan.
What Mecca is to Muslims, Star Trek to geeks, cricket to Ozzies and Guinness to the Irish, this is the ultimate biking adventure but with a safety net in the form of Alex.
Without question Alex was an integral factor of the tour for me. Fantastic company throughout it would not have been what it was without him. His English perfect, a local Kenyan from Mombasa, he helped me with my irritating questions about wildlife, culture and off road skills.
Fear not - the office will never be further from your mind.
Enjoy and rubber side down ;)
Many highlights, among those the stay at the Masai camp, very interesting to hear about and see the culture, a real experience far from the touristic programs we read about. Also Fred managed to mix the accomondations from simple to nice, and everyday was a real adventure.
The staff that went with us (a guide on motorbike and a support car) was so nice and friendly, and really knew their stuff. Never a bad word, but patience, outstanding service, humor and professionalism.
We had a fair amount of challenges on the way, punctures, muddy roads, an agressive elephant, but it was all so much fun and we felt safe and taken good care of all the way. On our previous trips we spend a lot of time on the motorbikes, some time too much, but Fred had arranged this trip so we had time for some game drives, lunches and nice breaks in villages etc., so overall it was perfect.
My best reccomandations to Fred and his outstanding staff. Second to none.
