Nairobi to Nairobi loop through the Great Rift Valley in northern Kenya. Evolving strictly in areas where security prevails, where we maintain privileged relationships with the local populations who welcome us. Tracks traversing a magnificent decor of lakes, volcanic mountains, semi-arid savannas and deserts to the shores of Lake Turkana where live the last nomadic pastoral ethnic groups among the most ancestral of Africa (Turkana, Rendilé, Gabbra, Borana…) of the Great Rift Valley, the same place where the origins of man were nested. Guaranteed encounter with omnipresent wildlife . A mix of Lodge, bungalow and bivouac comfort accommodation in the middle of nowhere

Reception at Nairobi International Airport. Transfer to Osoita Lodge near Nairobi, already on the start route of the first stage. Briefing and presentation of motorbikes for the adventure ride starting the next day , dinner and overnight at the Lodge.
Breakfast and departure in the direction of the Ngong hills, then diving on a steep track in the Massai country of Kedong in the heart of the Grand Rift valley (great African fault). Immediate meeting with the first wild animals such as gazelles, antelopes, giraffes, ostriches … Picnic along the way. Climb the Mau escarpment through villages and magnificent landscapes of the Grand Rift valley and descend to Lake Naivasha. Camp not far from the shores of the lake under large yellow acacias where giraffes, impalas and gazelles of Thomson approach. Dinner around the fire and overnight in the tent.
Departure after breakfast for Maralal crossing the Laikipia plateau where men share a vast territory with wild animals. The massif of Mount Kenya covered with its luminous glacier appears in the background. Arrival at the end of the afternoon at Maralal, the semi-desert North gate. Dinner and overnight at Ngari Hill Cottages
Departure after breakfast. The trail overlooks impressive views of the Rift Valley and then plunges to the bottom of a huge valley stretching conspicuously to the north: Suguta Valley. Arrives at the end of the trail by a track of black lava stones descending on the largest lake of the Rift Valley; Lake Turkana or sea of jade in front of its extraordinary color in the presence of a microscopic algae in great concentration. Turkana is the lowest point of the Rift Valley where the climate is very hot and dry. Arrival at Loyangalani, a palm village on the shores of the lake where the nomadic people passing through are used to come and draw the fresh water essential to their survival. Installation, dinner and night at Oasis Lodge.
Departure after breakfast on the lava stone track running north along the eastern shore of Lake Turkana, then heading east to the Chalbi desert, an ancient alkaline dried-up lake, passing the North Horr oasis decorated with sand dunes. Arrival late afternoon at the oasis of Karacha to set up camp in the middle of nowhere. Dinner and overnight in tents.
Departure after having folded the camp by crossing the salty expanses of the Chalbi desert. Meeting on the track with the nomads Gabbra, Galla and Rendile accompanying their herds of camels carrying salt to the market of Marsabit. South West junction at Kargi to go around the imposing Mount Kulal stretching all the way to South Horr. Meeting with Samburu and Rendile pastoralists leading their herds of goats and camels from a pasture to a single water point. Arrival late afternoon to set up camp in South Horr in a refreshing environment of vegetation. Dinner and overnight in tents.
Departure after breakfast for the mountains of Maralal then descent to Lake Baringo along the plateau of Laikipia, to meet the Pokot ethnic group. Arrival in the late afternoon on the shores of Lake Baringo, home to many birds and a large population of hippos and crocodiles. Lodging in a straw hut at Robert’s Camp on the shores of the lake.
Depart in the morning on the road to Nakuru then by taking a stone track leading to Lake Elementaita. Arrival at Sleeping Warrior Camp , a small charming camp located in the private reserve of Soysambu in the middle of the Great Rift Valley, in a splendid landscape of volcanic hills. Dinner and overnight at camp.
Last stage bypassing Lake Naivasha and going up on the Nairobi plateau. Arrival at the end of the afternoon at Osoita Lodge to take a shower and pack your bags. Dinner if time permits at the “Carnivore” restaurant. Then transfer to Nairobi airport for your return night flight.
